Mike Weckman is the third adjuster Claims Associates has hired recently to ensure we are adequately prepared to handle the claims our clients expect us to be ready for. As independent adjusters, we know when you need us, we need to be ready with the knowledge, experience and manpower to handle your insurance adjusting claims needs.
Mike comes from a military background, and moved frequently with his family (parents and a brother) while growing up. When it came time to choose a college, he chose USD, partially because that’s where his brother went, and because of family connections in SD. Mike earned his Bachelors in history and psychology.
After graduating, Mike worked for a few years as an insurance specialist at Sanford Home Medical, and then became the Hunting Manager at Scheels for several years, before deciding to join the adjusting team at Claims Associates.
Mike has been a member of the National Guard since 2012 as a Combat Engineer. He’s been called to state active duty for tornado relief, and has also volunteered for a vertical construction duty in Iraq.
Although Mike has joined us very recently, he’s been able to attend a one week course at Vale Training on Residential Policies, and will soon be taking his Xactimate course on-line. He has also attended the South Dakota Claims Annual Conference.
Mike enjoys outdoor activities, including hunting, fishing and golf. He got a new dog last year, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever, who goes everywhere with him (that he can!).
